Isabel is a city in Barber County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 90.[1]

Isabel is located at (37.468706, -98.551325)[4]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 108 people, 46 households, and 31 families residing in the city. The population density was 429.9 people per square mile (166.8/km²). There were 53 housing units at an average density of 211.0 per square mile (81.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.52% White, 1.85% African American, 0.93% Native American, 0.93% from other races, and 2.78% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.93% of the population.

There were 46 households out of which 26.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.4% were married couples living together, and 32.6% were non-families. 30.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.94.

In the city the population was spread out with 22.2% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 19.4% from 25 to 44, 31.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 86.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.6 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $23,125, and the median income for a family was $27,917. Males had a median income of $24,375 versus $19,375 for females. The per capita income for the city was $12,795. There were 18.5% of families and 17.0% of the population living below the poverty line, including 36.4% of under eighteens and 6.9% of those over 64.
